There are various ways to classify laminated paper, and one of the more intuitive ones is to distinguish it based on whether it contains a plastic coating, namely plastic release paper and non plastic release paper. Further refinement, we can also classify coated paper into organic silicon release paper and non silicon release paper based on the type of release agent used. This classification standard is mainly based on the differences in release agent composition, which directly affects the performance and application areas of the product.
In the category of plastic coated paper, the release agents used often have a certain permeability. If the surface of the paper is not properly blocked, these release agents may penetrate into the interior of the paper, causing a series of problems. The first and foremost issue is the unsatisfactory curing effect, manifested as insufficient curing of the coating, which affects the stability and durability of the product. In addition, the infiltration phenomenon also leads to a significant increase in the use of release agents, which not only increases material consumption in the production process, but also directly pushes up production costs and reduces economic benefits. Therefore, in order to overcome these problems, the industry generally adopts the method of coating the surface of paper with plastic, which is vividly called "film coating". In China, polyethylene (PE) particles have become the preferred material for coating treatment due to their excellent processing performance and cost-effectiveness. Usually, there is a certain requirement for the melt index of PE particles, which is controlled at around 7, to ensure the uniformity and adhesion of the coating layer. Among domestic PE particles, Yanshan Petrochemical's 1C 7A model is widely favored by the market due to its excellent performance and stable quality. According to the different layers of coating, plastic coated paper can be divided into single plastic release paper and double plastic release paper, with the latter often superior in terms of impermeability and durability.
On the other hand, non plastic release paper has attracted attention from specific fields due to its unique material and process. This type of paper mainly includes Gracin paper, CCK, etc. They have obtained excellent release properties and surface characteristics through specific chemical treatment or physical modification. These non plastic release papers are highly regarded in today's increasingly stringent environmental requirements due to their absence of plastic components, and are widely used in fields such as food packaging and pharmaceutical packaging that require extremely high material safety. At the same time, they also meet the high standard requirements for precision die-cutting and pasting operations in industries such as electronics and automotive with their unique surface structure and good processing adaptability.
